The First Prototype.

No Bolt in the middle of the Art Work.

Why a Stem Cap Urn.

Time for a little Background History.

Time for a little Background History.

Time for a little Background History.

I wanted to plaster Pedal or Die all over anything that moved when I started my little business "Pedal or Die Bicycle Works" and

The Stem Cap is a great place to basically place an ad. But I was vehemently against having a bolt in the middle of my artwork.

Although the idea was put on the shelf, the Prototype has been on my bike for the last 9 years.

Then Life got in the way!!

Time for a little Background History.

Time for a little Background History.

Well this is how life gets in your way sometimes.

UNTIL NOW

My name is Marc Stadelmann

I ride a bike. Almost 5000 miles last year. I am 72 years old. Retired 5 years ago. Two of my Best Friends have died since.

In my grief I made the weirdest bicycle part ever.

Mainly because no one else had what I wanted.

Turns out it's a rather underserved part of the funeral industry.

I Created the drawings. Placed the order. Talked to the engineers. Made notes. Waited for delivery. Anodized it. A lot of bike rides later. The Prototype is now installed with Bruce's Ashes and

Lazer Etched Memorial Cap on my bike.

I plan to ride with Bruce and Tony for several hundred thousand miles before I retire.

Bruce and Tony

My 2 best friends since school.

Tony Prey passed in 2022 from an eight year slide from Lewy Body Dementia and accompanying complications.

Bruce Strassel passed in 2023 from

Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease.

No cure. One in a million. Five weeks, fast and hard.

How did we get to Weird you Ask??

I put an URN for my friends ashes in the Stem of my bike.

The Long Cage is secured in the steering tube, the URN screws in and out from the  Long Cage carrying your friends and loved ones safely down the road.
